Asbestos Surveys

Asbestos Management Surveys

If you occupy a building for the purpose of just using it as an office then this is the survey for you. Management surveys will look at building materials that occupiers are likely to come into contact with. A good management survey will also take into account light maintenance tasks that will need to be undertaken. A management survey will also list your asbestos and assign priority assessments so that materials can be prioritised. The findings from this survey will go into a long term management strategy.

This survey will not look too hard into the building fabric. If you are undertaking a refurbishment project at a later date this survey will not be enough, you will need to undertake a refurbishment survey only of the area you wish to refurbish when the time comes.

Asbestos Refurbishment Surveys

If you are carrying out a renovation project then you will need to undertake a refurbishment survey of the area that is to be refurbished. It pays in the long run to get the scope of work absolutely right when planning a refurbishment survey so that area’s are not missed or un prepared for when work begins. Refurbishment surveys are classed as a fully intrusive survey that will look into the fabric of the building.

This survey on its own is not enough to base a full management strategy on but the information within the survey will need to be taken into account when developing or updating the management information.

Asbestos Demolition Surveys

This is a fully intrusive survey of the entire building before it is to be demolished. All existing information from management surveys and refurbishment surveys will need to be taken into account when compiling this type of survey.

Asbestos Re-Inspection Surveys

When you have a management strategy in place and surveys / registers are in place then you have a duty to inspect the asbestos within your building on a regular basis to ensure they are not deteriorating.

If we undertake a Re-Inspection survey for you based on the management information you have present this can be easily followed on and added to should we discover any missed items.
